Science Videos

I use videos to explain and share science. Here are some highlights..

Research videos funded by the Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence (COSEE) and the New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative (NEOSEC)

  • I made several graduate student profile videos you can see here:

Marine science field trip videos funded by the Lincoln and Therese Filene Foundation through the "School to Sea" collaboration between Lynn Public Schools and Northeastern University:

  • I produced, shot and edited several videos to prepare students for upcoming field trips.

Other videos presenting science research:

  • Overview of the Mars Gravity Biosatellite Program at MIT

  • Honorable mention video in the Department of Health and Human Service's Managing Meds Video Challenge

  • Finalist in the National Science Foundation Creating The Future Video Contest

Science writing

My science writing endeavors have included writing for a Research Blog and serving as a Twitter Ambassador for Northeastern University's College of Science. I also spent a summer working the science beat for the Raleigh News and Observer as an AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellow. I wrote newspaper articles about a range of topics including explorations of the science behind oyster farming, bear teeth, and remote-controlled cockroaches.

Other videos

I have a passion for filmmaking outside of science as well. Currently I'm active with the New Brunswick Film Coop and since my undergraduate years I've worked as a contract videographer. Before graduate school I worked in the film industry in Los Angeles in various capacities for Spyglass Entertainment, Scott Rudin Productions, International Creative Management and others.

Here are a few of the films I've made:
